In this super-sized episode, Geoff and Mike are joined by Derrick Moore, founder of Moore Law, PLLC. Derrick and the guys discuss the atrocious Netflix film, Love, Guaranteed and its portrayal of solo legal practice, contract law, deceptive business practices, (in)effective trial advocacy, and much, much more.
During the dicussion we give a shoutout to MyShingle.com and talk briefly about the classic case, Carlill v. Carbolic Smoke Ball.
This film is allegedly based on an actual case in which a man sued Coors over the brewer’s claim that its beers are “Brewed With Pure Rocky Mountain Spring Water.” (Spoiler alert, he lost.)
Editor’s Note: We inadvertently mixed up the name of two characters during the recording. Rachael Leigh Cook’s accountant is named Roberto, not Gideon. Gideon is the name of her brother-in law. We apologize for the mistake. In our defense, the characters just weren’t interesting enough to care about their names.
